Comstock Gold Prospectors Meeting Procedures

Board Meeting: 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM Board Members only

Between Board Meeting and General Meeting:
All members are asked to sign in indicating their attendance at the meeting. At that time they will be issued raffle tickets for a drawing held during the general meeting. All members get at least one raffle ticket for just being present. Additional tickets are given for club items worn such as one ticket for a name tag, a club hat, a club shirt, a club jacket, a club sweatshirt, etc. As you can see, you are being encouraged to purchase club material which is on sale at every meeting and is sold at cost to members.

Fund Raising Raffle: At the end of the general meeting a raffle is conducted to raise money to help pay for the cost of the meeting place. All members are encouraged to participate in the raffle in two ways. First you can donate material to the raffle and second you can purchase tickets. Donated material can be almost anything but items a prospector would be interested in would be a first choice. Tickets can be purchased for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and should be purchased prior to the start of the general meeting. There will be a table set up that contains the donated items for your inspection and contribution and another table where you can purchase the tickets (usually the same table where you sign in.)

General Meeting 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM: (order of activities may vary)
The meeting opens with the Pledge of Allegiance. The President will ask for any corrections to the previous minutes (contained in the club newsletter), followed by Treasurer's and claims report. This will be followed by old and new business and any "for the good of the group" items.

Guest speaker and/or demonstration: At this point in the meeting there may or may not be a guest speaker or demonstration. If there is one scheduled for the evening it will usually, but not always, be announced in the prior newsletter. All members are encouraged to let the Board know of what topics they might be interested in having presented and suggesting guest speakers or volunteering themselves to present topics.

Drawings: There will usually be three drawings during the meeting. The first drawing will be an attendance drawing where a ticket will be randomly drawn from the tickets that were issued during enrollment and the winner will usually win a silver round. A second drawing will use the most current membership roster and it will be explained by the President as he conducts it (pay attention to the newsletter for what the round count is up to.) The third drawing is a new member drawing and only the new members to the club that are present take part in this drawing.

Refreshments and Get-together:
Members are encouraged to share their prospecting adventures with other members while partaking in refreshments. This is also a good time to develop contacts for those members looking for prospecting partners.
